Emprise Corporation in Ledyard, CT has immediate full time openings for enthusiastic web developers to design, develop and modify existing web applications and component libraries. Project work includes converting existing Windows application to feature-complete, dynamic web applications and the creation of thin-client web applications that offer the rich user experience normally associated with traditional client-server applications.

Requirements (must have):
- Minimum 4 years experience in web development using XHTML.
- Advanced CSS skills and hands-on experience with cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Solid understanding of graphical user interface (GUI) design concepts, and usability, user experience considerations.
- Advanced JavaScript skills and experience with Ajax, XML, and DOM.
- Advanced understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts and hands on experience in OOP languages such as Java or C++.
- Experience with backend programming in JSP, Java, and/or PHP.
- Knowledge of current web development technologies and trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Database programming experience, knowledge of SQL and database procedure writing.
- Present Citizenship or work authorization.
Additional skills:
- Web server experience with Apache HTTP server and Apache Tomcat or other servlet containers are a plus.
- Hands on experience with Sybase database systems programming.
- Experience with requirements gathering and software documentation.
- Experience with agile programming methodologies.

Successful applicant will provide software installation, training, support and engineering plant survey assistance in a shipboard and shore-side environment.
Three years experience with Windows NT, networking, TCP/IP. Strong general computer knowledge, engineering plant operation, professional appearance and strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Relational database and client/server application experience is desired. Foreign and domestic travel is required.
